After the 2017 elections, Uhuruto successfully defended the presidency.
Raila successfully won the election petition which cancelled the results
Raila insisted the same IEBC officials that supervised the cancelled elections should resign
None resigned but proceeded to organize the repeat elections
Raila boycotted the elections.
Sporadic elections violence forced the handshake
WSR did not attend the handshake ceremony because he knew raila used the election boycott to enter the government without winning an election the same as the way he did with kibaki
The terms of the handshake were later revealed that Raila was to stop his supporters from elections violence if he will be the successor of Uhuru
Uhuru betrayed WSR who was promised to support uhuru as DP for 2 terms then he supports his presidential candidature
After Raila lost the 2022 elections and lost the petition. In 2023, he declared that WSR didn't win and he will forcefully remove him from statehouse.
Uhuru was the azimio chairman. If raila had won to be president, he was expected to be the prime minister with a right to appoint half the number of the government. Basically Uhuru will be serving as a third term as a ceremonial president in disguise as a prime minister
WSR later revealed that the dynasty family businesses of raila, Kenyattas Mois don't pay taxes as required by law.
In a nutshell the handshake is only for the personal interest between uhuru and raila.
No Kenyan will benefit from this.

Tunajua politics is just same monkeys in different forests.
At this time in 2007, WSR was unfortunately on the losing side. (Monkeys in the forest with trees with no fruits)
The way he was defending Raila clearly shows his character as a man who can defend anyone as long as you are on the same side.
Unfortunately PEV happened and Raila hurriedly arranged nusu mkate with kibaki
ICC also happened with WSR and Uhuru as the main suspects
Raila threw WSR under the bus and went on to serve as the PM
It was revealed that part of the nusu mkate agreement was Raila to succeed Kibaki as president
After the ICC cases were acquitted, Uhuruto returned to form jubilee party to compete against the incumbent kibaki and successor raila
As they say you can't teach a old dog, new tricks, because WSR saw it from far that raila in 2 occasions used elections violence to get the exclusive succession rights of the sitting president
This 2 times clearly shows raila always had a personal interest to rule Kenya

Raila never flew to Hague to attend any ruto cases. That's why I said he threw him under the bus to concentrate on being the PM eventually kibaki successor.
I forgot to mention when raila merged his NDP with KANU. His main agenda was to succeed Moi.
Unfortunately Moi chose Uhuru as his successor
He joined kibaki to form rainbow alliance to remove moi from power in exchange to be his successor.
Kibaki threw him under the bus during the referendum which led to formation of ODM
WSR has witnessed raila as the ultimate opportunist who has in multiple times planned for the sitting president to name him his successor and gain power of presidency without much effort.
