Will President Kenyatta set us free?

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to address the Nation today for his 12th Presidential Address on Covid-19 situation in the country.

He is also expected to ease the current Covid-19 containment measure that has been extended for several months now.

The current available containment measures include:
  • Nationwide night curfew from 9pm to 4am
  • Restriction of number of church and wedding attendees
  • Closure of bars and clubs
  • Restaurants must be closed by 8pm
Last week, the president had extended the Nationwide curfew to Tuesday, 29th September as he was to meet with the governors and Covid-19 expert in regards to the virus preparedness in the country.

In a statement, the president said he'll address the Nation after the meeting and Kenyans are in for it.

Kenyans expect the president to end the curfew, open bars and clubs and increase the number of church, wedding and Funeral attendees.

Citizens have been flaunting the Covid-19 guidelines provided by Ministry of Health as we have seen several political rallies, people clubing and even attending funerals without following the rules provided, sending the message 'TUMECHOKA'

The president should set us free since no one cares about the guidelines anymore, people want to make ends meet, feed their family and have a comfortable life.

Several memes have started circulating on Social Media in regards to reopening clubs, people can't wait to have their normal lives back and we are here for the announcement of the year.
