I think I saw this video a few years ago, though this could be another. Many years ago when I worked in Western I witnessed such disciplline at Ang'urai where a young man, 20, and his 19 yr old cousin were receiving hot canes for tasting each other. I was told it was the Iteeso community's method of discouraging sex between close relatives to control inbreeding.

Less costly than having to deal with compromised lineages forever. It's due to such safeguards that small communities survived and grew. Think of the consequences when you are a community of a few hundred people and you allowed that to happen. Small communities have less genetic diversity, meaning such short-circuits are highly likely to lead to disaster. Other communities would have harsher penalties.
