Thoughts on naming your kids

I took this route. My kids have African names but I ensured they also have a godly element to them while also repping their ancestral lineage.

Many people are choosing to go with what's fashionable, without thinking about the implications on the child, who will have to live with that name all their lives. Kuna toddler fulani rafiki yangu lakini nilishindwa kabisa kumwita kwa jina yake. Ati blessing. Ilibidi niulize other names niwe nazitumia.

I absolutely understand what kind of a parent would name their child that. And I really can't begrudge them. In the same manner, on the show Njoro wa Uba, 'Stacy' who acts as the main character's daughter is indicated as the credits roll after each episode...wait for it, Shekinah Glory.
This is Hebrew for 'the visible, radiant, or glorious manifestation of God's presence dwelling among His people...'
