C-130 ni tactical airlifter/transport aircraft. From hapo, inaweza kuwa adapted to other needs such as gunships (AC-130) airborne command and control and electronic warfare (EC-130) aerial refueling (KC-130), special ops (MC-130), search and rescue (HC-130) amongst others.

Hata C-27j can take similar functions za C-130. Huwa inaitwa C-130 lite coz they share a lot of systems.
