Not all deaths are equal, some ways of dying feature more suffering and pain than others, even though the outcome is the same the goal here is to minimize suffering and pain. Take for instance if a horse breaks it's leg or sustains an injury that is beyond recovery, it's a common practice to shoot it in the head, this is considered an act of kindness to alleviate further suffering. Likewise in some countries cancer patients who are in later stages and are beyond treatment have the option of Euthanasia / assisted suicide, point being in cases where death is inevitable it is wise to do it with minimum pain and suffering involved.
