Three Robbery With Violence Suspects Breaks Out of Cell At Mombasa High Court

The police are looking for three suspects who escaped from an underground cell in Mombasa High Court where they were waiting to be arraigned.

The three: Francis Mokaya Mosioma, Hussein Abdalla Mohamed and Daniel Kimani were facing charges of robbery with violence.

According to the statement provided, the three escaped by sliding underneath the raised cell door then removed one rusted bar from the grill door. The suspects then made their way out walking through the empty court room.

The escape happened as the wardens were handing over duties for the next shift.

My experience with court cells tells me that change of shift between wardens does not happen at court cells rather at the prison or police cells.
