That story of numbness can be bad....i remember siku moja nilikuwa camping in the highlands...kulikuwa na jiko and we dared each other who can hold their feet above the hot charcoals the longest. Mimi nikawekelea na nilikuwa nimevaa socks. I won the competition lakini the socks had already caught fire banae....

Somebody on these streets recently made an observation to the effect that Kenyans are loosing their humanity and treating each other callously. Whether this is due to the biting economic times, toxic politics or just general stresses of life is yet to be established.

Moses Kuria’s present predicament demonstrates, exemplifies and amplifies that point very sharply and poignantly. Since when has wishing ill those who ails been normal and decent human behaviour? Some are even going overboard to speculate, in a gloating manner should I add, as to what organs are failing in the poor bugger’s body and others even giving strange and morbid prognosis.
This sadistic and pitiless attitude taking root in our society is totally uncalled for and very unhealthy to say the least. That somebody does not subscribe to your political creed and dogmas is no good reason to wish them harm.
At the end of the day we are all frail and vulnerable to the follies and foibles of this life.

That aside I think we ought to give credit to Moses Kuria for having the guts to contemplate pursuing a Product Liability Claim. Manufacturers and their Agents have a legal duty of care to ensure that their products are reasonably safe enough not to cause harm and injuries when used in the prescribed manner.
To our eternal shame, Kenya has some of the weakest Consumer Protection Laws which is why we have lots of fake, counterfeit and defective products in the market.
Moses has not been very helpful political and policy wise but advocating for stronger Consumer Protection Rights may be his saving grace. Who knows? Quick recovery Moses.
