Tension has erupted in portions of the Mt Elgon region following the arrest of two people following a weekend attack by different political factions aligned to UDA contenders ahead of Tuesday's nominations.
Two supporters of UDA aspirant and area Member of Parliament Fred Kapondi were hurt after an arrow was fired at them, and another was slashed with a panga.
The incident took place at Tuikut village, Chesikaki location in Cheptais Sub County.
Two were detained at the Chesikaki Police Station before being released on bond.
