The family is very, very big. That mzee alone had not less than 4 known wives. Halafu, besides ngina, there are countless other prominent people in the extended portions of the family. In fact, when one is talking about the Koinanges or the Gathecas, they are also talking about the Kenyattas because the families are related. It should also be known that their privileged status began long before Kenya's independence, perhaps even before the coming of the missionaries. .
