Jirongo's last movements reveals that he left Karen in the company of a female friend at around 11.00 pm and drove towards Naivasha.
At 1.30 AM, he stopped near a hotel along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway where he dropped the lady. The two had a brief chat before Jirongo drove off.
On his way back he parked briefly by the roadside to answer a call of nature before continuing with his journey.
At 2.15 AM, he entered Eagol petrol station, drove round without refuelling, then re-entered the highway on the wrong lane, resulting in a collision with a Climax bus.
