A Kenyan man who has been living and competing in athletics as a woman on Tuesday came clean to an Eldoret court revealing that he is indeed a man.
Mr Hillary Kiprotich who has been identifying himself as Shieys Chepkosgei was arraigned before Eldoret chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa after he was arrested trying to impersonate a female nurse.
Mr Kiprotich is said to have reported to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) emergency room dressed in a female nurse's uniform and wearing a badge with the name Pamela Mulupi on June 14.

Nurses who work at MTRH did not recognize her and on checking records it was realized that he was an impostor, after which the police were alerted.
Hillary Kiprotich remanded at Eldoret GK Women's Prison
Soon after his arrest, Kiprotich was remanded at the Eldoret GK Women's Prison as police investigated the case but prison officers discovered that he is a man.
Mr Kiprotich possesses a national identity card, passport and a birth certificate which all identify him as Shieys Chepkosgei.
"I was identified as a male but when I became an athlete, I registered myself as female," Kiprotich responded during his appearance in court.
Kiprotich has in fact participated in a number of athletic competitions including the Eldoret City Marathon as Shieys Chepkosgei.
He has won three medals from various marathons in Malaysia, Morocco, Zambia and Tanzania as a woman.

Kiprotich confirmed to Magistrate Obulutsa that he is indeed a man but added that he "associates more with the female gender".
He did not plead to any charge brought against him as the court directed that he should be tested and his true gender confirmed before a hearing set for June 27.
