Huko county kuna pesa mingi sana....btw did the MPs return the money they were overpaid?

Funny that you flagged this piece, @The.Black.Templar.

Kenyans do not sincerely recognise the principle of Unjust Enrichment and the law of restitution that goes hand in hand with it.

Let me give you a scenario happening thousand of times a day in Kenya:
You make an mpesa transaction sending money to someone. In the process of so doing you mismatch their number by a digit and the money goes to a wrong unsuspecting recipient. What most Kenyans do is that they withdraw the money and immediately switch off their phones with the intention of not answering a call from the sender or from Safaricom demanding the money back.

Folks pretend not to know that when you receive money by mistake, you are legally obliged to pay it back subject to the defence of Change Of Position.

We as citizens and individuals ought to assimilate and cultivate a culture of transparency, accountability and honesty.

I agree it is a challenge for Safaricom to Police these transactions but doesn’t it behove every citizen to embrace honesty and integrity as fundamental virtues of our Nation?

How would you feel if money you were sending to pay a hospital bill for a loved one ended in wrong hands of someone with no scruples of using it as theirs whilst denying they ever received it?

Personal responsibility is key here @Budspencer or what is your opinion?
