What happened
In Sega Town, Siaya County, two teachers—Meshack Ongulu, a respected educator and church leader, and his colleague Modesta Mwakali—tragically died in a shocking accident inside a rented house. The fatal incident occurred when Modesta was struck by a live wire in the bathroom. Meshack, attempting to save her, was also electrocuted and lost his life.
Clarifying misconceptions
Initial reports mistakenly circulated that the woman found dead alongside Meshack was his wife. However, family members—including Meshack’s in-law and cousin—confirmed his wife is alive and was not involved in the accident.
