And you know no single cabinet secretary can dictate where loans are to be borrowed from. So you know who is the chief thief here.

Dude has hit the nail on the head.

This is what I have been saying all along and people like @Mwalimu-G don't get it. Uhuru Kenyatta started off as a transformational president and the kind of maendeleo Kenya has seen during his tenure is unprecedented. Nobody has built more roads, connected more people to electricity, or reformed the security ecosystem more than Uhuru.

There's a reason why for example Al Shabaab is finding it extremely difficult to explode a grenade in Nairobi unlike say Kibaki's time.

THE PROBLEM WITH UHURU is that all this has been done at DOUBLE the cost because of corruption, which is why debt has moved from around Sh1.7 trillion to more that Sh7 trillion. A minister or top bureaucrat anapata yake 300m anasign a deal where the country loses 20b. Think the SGR, the dams, Turkana Power, etc.

Uhuru could actually have achieved all he has and more with just Sh3 trillion.

And you know no single cabinet secretary can dictate where loans are to be borrowed from. So you know who is the chief thief here.

It starts with a Cabinet memo derived from the broad Government Policy ... Have your break.

All of you who are blaming China, let me ask, WHAT PERCENTAGE OF KENYA'S LOANS BELONG TO CHINA?

Please don't beat about the bush, just quote THE PERCENTAGE.

(Because in reality, Western commercial loans are as much to blame for corruption as China's)

MIT aka @Field Marshal .....Uhuru is no transformational leader. I will repeat this again, 'infrastructure is preferred by dictators and corrupt governments'. Why? Because of the large capital outlay involved and complex engagements and since Kibaki had started by building roads in Kenya and people saw the difference such projects did to the country and Uhuru was in government at that time to see how all this is done and the benefits that can be derived both at public level and at a personal level and given the history of his family....Kenya's allowaning Uhuru to be its president was akin to a hen walking around with a knife tied on its leg....most of the roads that have been built by Uhuru's govt were on no immediate urgency.... agricultural areas still have bad roads, existing ones are poorly repaired....the drunkard is now paving the city centre and building a secondecond major road to the airport.....the other was forced to be built next to their 'city' Northlands....
By the way your explanation in the third paragraph has been repeated here by other people but you also come back with your silly rebuttal of 'kenyans are breeding like rats'....
To paraphrase David Ndii, ' Uhuru's brain has a bandwidth that if it were to be accessed to download presidential stuff, it can only download 1kb of it'.....
