Crucial Details on Nairobi Police Officer Threatening to Shoot Colleague Emerge
A Kasarani-based police constable has been arrested and detained after threatening to shoot a superior officer following a disagreement with a female colleague on Saturday.
According to a report by Citizen Digital, the hell broke shortly after Kayole superintendent Jackson Owino allegedly rebuked constable Elizabeth Wangari for smoking at the Seasons Lounge.
Constable Owino is said to have taken his government-issued car to a car wash at the said entertainment joint.
Following the the disagreement with Owino, it is alleged that Wangari furiously walked out of the bar while hurling insults at the senior officer, and came back shortly with two other police constables identified as Marwa Matiko and Charles Maina.
Matiko and Maina allegedly questioned Owino over the disagreement with the female officer but they didn’t seem to agree on matter.
Matiko then allegedly cocked his gun and aimed at the superintendent’s chest before he was disarmed.
“The said PC Matiko went ahead to walk out of the bar and fired four (4) rounds of 9mm ammos from his rifle and two (2) rounds of 9 mm ammos from the Ceska pistol of the senior police officer,” Police handling the matter said in a report.
The report further stated that Matiko and Maina went ahead and handcuffed the superintendent before arresting one Zacharia Mwambi for reasons yet to be established.
It is alleged that Owino and Mwambi were assaulted when they were taken to Kasarani Police Station.
“At the station the senior police officer and the said Zacharia Mwambi were pushed into custody. With the intervention of the orderly officer CI David Ekeno, the senior police officer was released from custody and a report of the incident taken down,” the report added.
Matiko was later taken into custody after his state-issued rifle and the handgun he seized from the senior officer was taken from him.
Constable Owino and duty officer Inspector Mutia Mutinda reportedly visited the scene later and recovered four spent 9mm cartridges.
By the way NPS ni Ngata press services....
I don't want troubles.
They paid bribes or rather their parents paid bribes to the sp's and ssp's to have them admitted to the uniformed services, yet the SP and SSP'S were freely and forcely conscripted into the service. There is lack of discipline in NPS. No respect for ranks. What's the respect when a constable can disarm a senior officer? Kwani Hawa constables ni watoto wa nani?
There needs to be a clamp down on this from the top. They paid bribes or rather their parents paid bribes to the sp's and ssp's to have them admitted to the uniformed services, yet the SP and SSP'S were freely and forcely conscripted into the service.
