It is too obvious. In my several breakdowns of how Raila is being weakened, i highlighted how Uhuru is trying to build a parliamentary majority over Raila. If Raila failed to honor the BBI agreement, Uhuru could force it through parliament. It also gives him the legal legitimacy to be the prime minister. That said, Raila, as mentioned by Kalonzo, could easily do his own handshake with Ruto so that he can retain his presidential powers rather than being relegated to a ceremonial president. Power is a toxic and potent drug.
