SUBJECT: SUIYAN POLICE POST ATTACK/ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE INCIDENT
Ref. my OB 07/10/11/2022 at 2200hrs and suiyan police post OB. 04/10/11/2022 at 17300hrs. Be informed that, today at around 1700hrs it was reported to OCS Marti Police Station by No.xxx CPL Philip Kwendo, tel.07xxxx who is the Incharge SuIyan Police post that the POST was under attack by Bandits .The same information was also shared with Samburu North Sub-County Police commander who mobilized police officers from Marti police station, Baragoi police station, and DCI samburu North officers to respond to the said police Post,MR,470770, about 60kms East of the station, and 40km from Baragoi police station. Upon reaching there and questioning the officers at the post, they stated that at around 1700hrs three bandits who were all armed with AK-47 Rifles stormed the police post and attacked the Incharge Police Post who was by then the only Police officer at the post. Two of the bandits subdued him to the ground and asked for keys to the steel box which the officer said he did not have. The bandits then entered the house of the In charge where the steel box was kept. The bandits then shot at the two padlocks which had been used to lock the steel box breaking them and gained entry into the steel box. It is then that the officer managed to escape and ran away to seek for help. The bandits managed to take away the following riffles.

2.G3 Riffle SNo. A3 xxxx
3.G3 Riffle S/No. Xxxx
4.G3 S/No. A3 xxxx.
5. Nine G3 Magazines containing a total of 180 rounds of 7.62 *51 mm special ammunition
6. One AK 47 magazine containing 30 rounds of ammunition 7.62 *39mm special. The bandits took the weapons and left running to the bush as they shot in the air. It was also noted that at the time of the incident , two officers that is
No. Xxx Pc Francis Manyeki and No. Xxx PC Hillary Mutai who were supposed to be at the post allege to have had briefly left and went to a nearby Manyatta. Three other officers who are Noxxx PC Thomas Safari, No.xxxx PC John Kaparo, No. Xxxx PC Wilfred Mwiti and were away on off duty. The scene has been photographed, documented where three cartridges, broken pieces of padlock have been collected at the scene. Efforts are being put in place to search for the suspects. It is also noted that the area is not covered by network which delayed the reporting and hampered communication. Investigation has been launched and SCCIO Samburu North dealing.
