There is a procedure prescribed by law. You just need to inform the OCS on time.
The time is meant to enable the OCS to organize security for you and also manage traffic along the procession route.
That procedure is meant to ensure good citizens like you are not caught up in a wildcat demos with injuries or damage to your property.
****but activists do not like to follow procedure because when the procession is orderly it may happen with no one noticing. So they want it disbanded violently (and sometimes even throw stones to provoke a riot) so that when people are dispersed in gunshots, teargas, water canons and batons it makes headlines. Better still if fools like akina @Gio who just join without knowing mahali ilipangiwa die they attract even bigger headlines. Umeshawahi ona Boniface Mwangi na majeraha?

Remember during the #Lipakamatender strike when doctors were holding a night vigil at Railway Grounds and Kenyatta sent the GSU to break up their perfectly peaceful vigil?

With or without a pandemic ravaging the country we are subjected to repression, we are no better than Uganda really, the Police and Executive have no respect for the Constitution and the people of Kenya, at some point we are going to have to have blood spilt in our streets for these rights and freedoms to be respected in total.

With this government that doesn't respect even court orders, this is the only way out. They will send those goons in uniform to do it on their behalf to scare Kenyans into submission. Wacha tungoje tipping point.

Don't you think you are exaggerating sir? Ebu go to Uganda or Tz and call the president an SOB tuone kama utatoboa. Sometimes this negativity ndiyo hufanya nakasirika........................

Mkisii Msoto I know you are suffering from BWS (Babuon Withdrawal Syndrome) Utangoja sana for full-scale chaos in Kenya. That can only happen if Mt Kenya people decide enough is enough like they did with the British in 1952, and it ain't happening again in your lifetime..................

You never know when Kenyans will get tired. And the people of Mount Kenya did not participate in putting this country on a precipice after the sham elections in 2017, mpaka your prince had to engineer the handshake to see this country survive (for now). Never say never. Even cowards gain courage once in a while.

Don't kid yourself eti MauMau put a dent in british ambitions for Kenya. By the time the emergency had come to an end, the horrors committed by the brits had also seen the Mau Mau wiped out. Independence was as a result of the decolonisation process forced onto the former colonial powers by the US and their austerity measures after the war. A real war of independence is that fought by Algeria, not ragtag militia with wooden guns playing hide and seek with the SAS in the aberdares.

It is easy to provoke your tribalism, I see, and I will not argue with you on these issues. Suffice to say that Kenya was the only country designated as a 'White' homeland that got independence in the 1960s. Namibia? SA? Zimbabwe?

Kenya must have been very lucky then......................

The guy may have been arrested by an over-zealous OCS but will he be disappeared? Or will he run to Tanzania or Uganda like all their politicians are running to Nairobi.

I keep saying, let's be serious if we want to be taken seriously for god's sake!

If I was you, @Gio, I would re-read what you have written and corrected it promptly.
Kutoa memo ya maandamano to the public is equivalent to having Police on your speed-dial on where, when and how the maandamano is organised. Very self-defeating and self- sabotaging if you asked me.

And for your information, Police always find a way to infiltrate those goons you are talking about.

Ah yes, I had forgotten this escapism. When a different perspective is brought forward, the tribalism card is quick to be brought out. This is how you ended up voting for the defo of gatundu thrice in the name of "my people are being targeted."

I admit the work done to get independence in those three countries was immense, up there with Algeria, but Mau Mau does not hold a candle to any of them.

Police will infiltrate, but that doesn't mean they will be able to stop them. Police are brute force monkeys who only know how to clobber and shoot to death. How will they defeat non-violent ideas like boycotts as happened in 2017?
