During a send-off ceremony of the late Mr. Andrew Mshilla, a notable tension arose as activist Dennis Mshilla addressed the county leaders of Taita Taveta. With a commanding presence, Dennis, affiliated with the W.M.J, directly confronted Senator Johnes Mwaruma, questioning the integrity of the local political leadership.

“Are you here merely to deceive the constituents?” he inquired, placing the senator in a challenging position. He raised a significant concern regarding the Devki Steel Factory, which has been rumored to provide employment for 2,000 youths. “Senator, how many young individuals have you successfully placed in the factory?”

The atmosphere grew tense as Dennis directed the same inquiry towards the Mps representative, expressing frustration over their apparent reluctance to address pressing issues. “Do you genuinely care about the welfare of our community?” he pressed, reflecting the sentiments of many residents who feel neglected.

Furthermore, Dennis condemned the county leadership for their failure to reclaim land that has shifted to Makueni County. “Why are we allowing our land to be lost?” he questioned, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

He also addressed the critical issue of water scarcity, asking, “Why are water channels directed to other counties while the residents of Taita Taveta suffer from inadequate supply?” His remarks resonated with the audience, urging them to unite in pursuit of their rights.

In a compelling conclusion, Dennis urged the youth to abandon alcohol and join together in the effort to improve Taita Taveta. “Together, we can effect meaningful change in our county.” His call to action inspired many, leaving them motivated to advocate for their community's future.
