A family is in mourning following the death of their daughter who jumped off her third-floor apartment balcony in Lang'ata.
A police report obtained by Kenyans.co.ke on Sunday indicated that the incident occurred at around 5:50am.

The caretaker of the apartment block first reported the incident to the police.
According to the report, the deceased was aged 28 years old and was living in the apartment alone.

"Scene visited by the Deputy OCS, Duty Officer and DCI Lang'ata and the body of (the deceased), a Luhya female adult aged 28 years was found lying dead at the back of the said apartments about 1.5 kilometers north of the station," read the police report in part.
"The scene has been processed by crime scene personnel and the body which had no physical injury but blood oozing from the nose has been moved to the City Mortuary."

During the wee hours incident, neighbours were alerted by a loud thud and surrounded the scene before the arrival of the police.
Police officers have launched investigations into the incident.
The incident was the second of its kind on Sunday following the horrific dismemberment of a woman's body in Roysambu. A police report indicated that the head of the deceased was still missing.
Cases of suicides and murder have been on the rise in the recent months.

Throughout 2023, concerns had been raised following 10 suicides that rocked Kiambu alone in a span of 10 months.
A report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations released in August last year indicated that a majority of the cases were caused by unemployment, the high cost of living and alcoholism.
Psychiatrists, as a result, launched counselling programmes to prevent further loss of lives.

Kenya’s Educational System is very deficient and not fit for purpose as far as earning and making a livelihood goes.
Every year we bring forth young Ladies and men who are ill prepared for and ignorant about the cruel world out there.

There are ethical, moral and legitimate ways of making a living and earning money. Unethical, illegal and immoral means of making money may seem easy and enticing. However they are fraught with danger.
Prostitution, conning, drug dealing and criminality may seem alluring but always come with a very high probability of losing one’s life.
Let us as a society, from households to politicians, exercise, uphold and practice a life of ethics and morality and these unfortunate incidents will cease once and for all.

Sadly I believe the system is rigged. Keep majority of the population in poverty so that it gives way to all sorts of vices through the desperation it creates . A fertile ground for corruption, and impunity of those wealthy from illicit gains.

Our ancestors didn't have as much in terms of material wealth, but they had a strong social and cultural setup that kept many vices at bay. These vices started flourishing when hut tax was imposed which forced travelling for work, urbanisation and breakdown of social cohesiveness

And the killing of polygamy.

I was starting to believe this story but it developed inconsistentencies. Is there some truth to it ama it's just for tiktok views?

Anyway, raise your young girls right. Morals over money and lifestyle

It's some me too thing.
Me too was about calling out abusers though I don't recall men recounting such experiences under women who had more influence.
This is about ladies being killed at the hands of men who entice them with financial gain in exchange of sex.
