Deputy Prizden today claimed they released 10B to counties to mitigate the effects of the El Nino disaster. He said the county governments have the money in their banks and there's no reason they shouldn't buy wahadhiriwa blankets, food and shelter materials. Mombasa Governor was quick to respond.

RIGATHI GACHAGUA, ON EL NINO PREPAREDNESS 30 SEPT 2023: “I give a full Gov't commitment that the National Gov't will deploy all resources including Kenya Defence Forces and National Youth Service. We will convene a technical committee to deal with the devastation and will meet development partners and the Kenya private sector alliance. The County coordination committees will be activated to be chaired by governors and county commissioners.”
22 NOV 2023: "We're shocked to see Governors complaining they're yet to receive El Nino support from the National Gov't; such support is not coming. We expect them to use the emergency money or reallocate money within their budget to intervene for the people they govern."
Who has that clip of President Uhuru Kenyatta saying kwa mdomo moja hawa majaama wana maneno matamu matamu, na kwa mdomo ingine ni kuhara na kutapika? We must do the Lord's work together, now that the Bomas Archbishop is still not yet back from counting his State House monthly stipend.
