Police in Kibwezi, Makueni county have launched an investigation after a 90-year-old man was brutally killed by unknown persons and robbed off his money on Tuesday. According to local area chief Nicolas Mwonga, the elderly man was accosted by the assailants just after he had left a bank in Metava area where he had gone to withdraw money he received through the Injua Jamii cash transfer programme.
 
Fourteen stolen vehicles have been recovered and three prime suspects arrested as police in Uasin GIshu moved to tame rising crime in the region. Uasin Gishu county commissioner Eddisson Nyale chaired a security meeting in Eldoret a day after Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei and other leaders expressed anger over rising crime incidents in the county that is home to President William Ruto. Nyale said they also recovered a gun that had been used in most criminal incidents in the region by the arrested suspects.
 
Police in Nanyuki have launched investigations to establish circumstances leading to the death of a 13-year-old girl in a house fire incident amidst claims the minor was defiled before being killed. The Grade Six pupil at Mt Kenya Primary School died in a residential house inside a church compound in what was initially thought to be a normal fire incident. But it has now emerged that before her death, the girl was in the company of a 48-year-old man who is the caretaker of Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) Church located at Kabiru village on the outskirts of Nanyuki Town.

A 25-year-old businessman was on Monday night shot dead in a robbery with violence incident at Kamasimo village in Kurutyange sub-location, Migori County. Kuria West sub-county Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the unknown killers also stole an amount of money and gold from the deceased. Mr. Kimaiyo said the businessman succumbed to gunshot wounds at the Kuria West sub-county hospital while undergoing treatment.
