INTENSIFIED PATROLS AND RECOVERY OF STOLEN LIVESTOCK IN LAIKIPIA COUNTY

National Police Service officers in Kirima Sub-County , Laikipia County have intensified patrols in order to enhance security in the area. During a mobile patrol at Tandare Area yesterday, police officers recovered a herd of 55 heads of cattle that had previously been reported stolen after a bandit attack at Miteta Area. Further, National Police Reservists (NPR) ambushed armed bandits at Kapiliakat Area near Arabal River foiling a cattle rustling incident by bandits who fled and are being pursued. Ten heads of cattle stolen during the banditry attempt, were recovered by the NPR officers and escorted to RDU Camp in Kasiela. The animals were positively identified and handed over to the owner.

Following a banditry attack and cattle theft incident in Marakwet East Sub-County, police officers have been pursuing the matter and also put in place strategies to enhance security in the Area. As a result of these interventions, yesterday police officers recovered an additional 3 heads of cattle at Chepelion Sub- Location in Baringo County. The recovered animals were ferried to Chepkarerat GSU Camp for further administrative action. We laud the support provided by the National Government Administration Officers and the local community that led to the success of this operation.
