That figure is slightly misleading as it includes solar electricity, which is mostly inconsequential. In the last census, only a half of the 12 million households had grid connectivity. At best I would put the present connectivity to grid electricity at about 60 percent. @zapp_brannigan belongs to the unconnected 40 percent even though he can see Thika Super highway from his penthouse.

It's misleading ,I can confirm that . I am connected to the grid but the power is not usable . Customers kama sisi should be counted as a third of a customer . The only permanent relationship na kplc is the drop cable from the pole to the house .The voltage is below 170 volts 80% of the time .Fridge guard and AVS are always on red status .With my small resources I have invested in solar and recently SVS . Solar imenichenga in the last two months due to the cloudy skies . Imebidi ninunue SVS to stabilise the voltage to usable state and at least charge the batteries on very cloudy days . .
