She died in the hospital.
Suicide notes were retrieved from her.

Reference is made to Stapol Limuru Ob No.12/17/05/2022 at 1239 hrs.
The incident was reported by Limuru Sub- county CIPU commander CI Benjamin Kioko. NPS officers from Limuru Sub- county led by SCPC Limuru M/S Mola (SSP) and SCCIO Limuru George Muriuki ( ASP) rushed to the scene and established that one officer No.261857 APC Edithu Nyawira of Limuru CIPU command had committed suicide within Limuru CIPU camp by shooting herself using a Scorpion rifle S/no. KE-AP-B432932 which was issued to her for bank guarding duties. She shot herself at the mouth and bullets exited at the back of her head.The deceased was rushed to Limuru health centre where she passed on while receiving treatment. At the scene of the incident, three spent cartridges of 9mm were recovered. Additionally two suicide notes address to her sister and her boy friend.The scene was documented by CSI personnel from DCI headquarters and necessary police action was taken. The body has been removed to Tigoni level 4 hospital awaiting post-moterm examination . Case PUI. DCI Limuru dealing. Progress report to follow
