matters wheat

wrongturn

Elder Lister
wheat is basically a staple food nowadays. Kenya needs to be sufficient in food otherwise prepare more lube. Galana kulalu is now almost forgotten after sinking billions na watu wetu waligula proper.

Expect rise in price of chapati kwa kibanda as india bans exports of wheat yet Kenya kephis officials were planning to go benchmarking there in order to allow imports from india. Now the world supply is shrinking. Kenya imported 2.4m metric tonnes in 2021.

The worldwide challenges since COVID landed will change some countries to be better while others due to bad governance will suffer going forward . Ask yourself why do we have to import some of the goods like grains which can grow well locally .
Vote wisely .

I hope hiyo wisely si ile ya Kimwarer.

In early 2000s, there were so many wheat plantations around my area. Ata hizi sides za olkalou. Saizi it's hard finding any. Labda narok. Not sure what went wrong that people are no longer interested

Kenya's production is very low in comparison to consumption.Halafu pia with an increase in income and modernization, wheat demand went over the roof unlike in the 90s when bread and chapati were luxury items.

This was to translate to more production. But it's the reverse that happened. As @Mtumsafi pointed out, I think it's not viable to grow wheat. And soon maybe it won't be viable to grow maize.

Ata hizi sides za olkalou
Hizo za Ol Kalou ni lazy farming. The reasoning that wheat doesn't require a lot of weeding. An agronomist will tell you it is very difficult to make any profit from a wheat farm less than five acres. And in those areas of Nyandarua there's also the nyeki ya nylon weed to contend with and to reduce the wheat yield even further.

Watu waanze kujitegemea na sio lazima you consume wheat, maize and rice to survive. Niliamua kuhama Kanairo and try my best on farming na last season I harvested a dozen bags of Sorghum on my first try. Hii season nimeweka mandizi, machungwa, melons, pumpkins, apples na thandara watu wa Kanairo watakula.

Hii ni cue ya ku-whine vile Kenyan gavament is useless? Because this is what low IQ bonobozzz do all day, blaming every body but themselves................nani amekustop kukuza wheat yako?

mzee ,so we should not point out faults yet we pay taxes? What's the point of paying taxes? Wasn't galana marketed as a game changer?

So kila mtu ajilimie kila kitu? Or everyone imports for themselves?
