Raila's escapade to the US was purposed to be for comparison and competition with Ruto's earlier trip. They know what Ruto did wrong and what he did right. They will try to avoid the wrong he did and better the right he did. If Ruto met the deputy head of a secondary school Raila will strive to be photographed with the headmaster. Where Ruto met the subchief, Raila will do what he can to meet the DC ama the PC if possible. Raila can be super juvenile if he were to be given the chance.

And I don't see him eliciting the same euphoria with this trip as he did with a similar one several years ago. It will be an anticlimax given that Kibaki will be up for burial on Friday and Saturday. They should have delayed the trip when Kibaki died. How can Raila afford to miss out in such an auspicious occasion that would have given him a sure opportunity to bask in the limelight?


I will say it again. Given the chance, Raila can be very juvenile and pety! Sadness of life is to see him infect otherwise mature characters like Maritha Karua with his pettiness.

That's the point of competition,you do better in comparison to your competitors. In politics perception matters, last week only we were reading how in terms of nominations, UDA performed better and were deemed to be fair in most instances

Not necessarily. More like our politics are boringly predictable. Ruto might have travelled at the time he did as a preemptive tackle against Raila. And, Raila, all true to his character, cannot let a challenge go without a reaction. If he misses the Kibaki funeral ceremony...., i don't know!

In life we have time , money and energy
Whatever stage you are in in life you CAN'T have the time ,money or energy all the three at same time. It can be very dangerous !
But you can create time or energy using your money !
