President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party will soon unveil former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as their joint candidate ahead of the August election.

This is even as Murang'a leaders demand that Raila considers Peter Kenneth as his running mate.

Uhuru’s right-hand man David Murathe on Monday disclosed plans are at an advanced stage to formally back the ODM boss for a grand duel with Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking during Azimio la Umoja rally in Murang'a, the Jubilee vice chairman said they will have a twin National Delegates Conference that will culminate in unveiling of Raila at Nyayo National Stadium.

He, however, did not mention the dates. Jubilee was to have NDC last year but was cancelled at the last minute.

The former Gatanga MP said after chasing DP and his team from the outfit, they have no candidate and will rally behind Raila to succeed Uhuru who is retiring in August.

“Soon we will hold our NDC and we will ask delegates to adopt Raila as our candidate," Murathe said.

"Ours will be at KICC and ODM will have theirs at Bomas, then we meet at Nyayo and unveil our joint candidate under Azimio la Umoja.”

Mtalilia kwa choo. Sisi kama GEMA kwa ground ata 10% mkipata ni maajabu.
Seems you prefer some dynasties and not others. You like Mdvd dynasty ya huko kwenu ingo but hate izo zingine.

‪Moses Sabstone Budamba Mudavadi was a former teacher who served as MP for Sabatia from 1979 to 1989, when he died.‬

‪His son, Musalia Mudavadi, now leader of the ANC Party, took over the seat without an election. ‬

He was only 28 at the time.

‪See, in those days, KANU, the ruling party, was baba na mama. Party officials exerted so much pressure on Sabatia voters to elect Musalia unopposed that the other candidates who had expressed an interest in the seat backed out of the race.‬

So Musalia “won” the seat without a contest.‬

‪Musalia’s dad, whose second wife hailed from Baringo, spoke fluent Kalenjin and grew close to his fellow teacher, former President Moi. ‬

‪Their friendship may have started off when Moses Mudavadi was promoted to District Education Officer (DEO) for Baringo by the colonial administration in 1958. He was again promoted in 1963 and made Provincial Education Officer for Nairobi.‬

‪It was Moses Mudavadi who influenced the appointment of Moi to be Principal of Kabarnet Intermediate School. Indeed, President Moi would return the favour years later when he appointed Moses to his cabinet, where he served various ministries including Local Government, Water and Basic Education.‬

‪As a Minister under Moi, the senior Mudavadi was powerful and few government officials dared to cross his path. According to some reports, he occasionally called on President Moi in State House without an appointment.‬

‪Thirteen years after his father’s death, Musalia came close to being President when he served as Vice President in 2002.‬

There are no permanent enemies in politics. Politics is about interests and politics is dynamic and sometimes your interests align with those of your former political enemies. Seems you are the only one still stuck in the past. Remember in 2008 hasla was the biggest enemy, the devil reincarnate kule mt kenya.
