You would leave it behind for sure. Based on the video Jazzman has shared naona kuna settings that leash the drone to the controls making it follow so that it doesn't go out of range.

I assume by hovering the drone which has to be automated then you have to think that it would automatically follow the train.

Regardless, the speed of the train will determine how long the drone will follow and conserve momentum because you have to account for drag. The higher the speed of the train the greater the drag.

Conclusion: Forget your drone if you set it to hover from a speeding train.

This has the answer. The drone is left hovering about. It would be absolutely different if the drone hovered over a moving training.
