SECURITY: Only Uhuru has had the foresight to build a police leadership academy in 60 years. He'll soon be opening Kenya's first police forensic laboratory. Uhuru's reorganisation of the security sector has seen the KDF acquire more modern hardware to use against al Shabaab including attack helicopters and armoured vehicles (100 more will soon be bought from Turkey at about Sh8b). In Uhuru's time the KAF has got at least two modern transports that can fly anywhere. The intelligence services have been revamped and cordination between different security arms has been enhanced. Result? No major attacks in the country for several years except the Dusit one. There was a time boarding a matatu in Nairobi was playing Russian Roulette.
TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE: Uhuru's gavament is also the first to try to have a mass transit system in the capital city through the BRT and DMUs. This is in addition to revamping the old Lunatic Line, first to Nanyuki and to Kisumu. Uhuru's gavament has also modernised the Kisumu Port, has started the Lapset Project and completed the SGR from zero. At nearly 7,000kms, Uhuru's gavament has BUILT MORE TARMACKED ROADS THAN THE GAVAMENTS OF JOMO, MOI (pthoo!) and Kibaki combined. As you cruise around the many by-passes surrounding Nairobi, as you watch the six-lane Nairobi-Naivasha Highway coming up, as you see the fantastic roads around Upper Hill including the one joining Mbagathi Way near Highrise remember this; Uhuru has done absolutely fantastically on infrastructure.
