If nations did not arm themselves they would be overrun by their enemies (competition) and enslaved. Life is an endless competition for scarce resources.imagine if countries dedicated the amount of money spent on weaponizing themselves to the health sector,
not really sure about scarce resources, but ill take your word on it.If nations did not arm themselves they would be overrun by their enemies (competition) and enslaved. Life is an endless competition for scarce resources.
Because the resources are scarce and depletable, They cannot be increased, only used more efficiently perhaps but efficient use is not an assurance of perpetuity.(why can't we spend the money on increasing the said scarce resources instead of warfare?)
i just wish ill be alive to see us with no food and water but with guns, missiles, atoms....Because the resources are scarce and depletable, They cannot be increased, only used more efficiently perhaps but efficient use is not an assurance of perpetuity.
I can assure you this won't happen in your lifetime.i just wish ill be alive to see us with no food and water but with guns, missiles, atoms....
that seems like the most likely scenario.I can assure you this wont happen in your lifetime.
In the fullness of time though strong nations (and perhaps megalomaniac individuals wanting to play God) will kill off weaker ones so that some equilibrium between resources and consumption is regained.
Resources do not have alternatives. They are all scarce.and arent most if not all of the resources have alternatives?
One of the reasons we buy arms and show them off during national days is posturing. Posturing serves the purpose of deterrence...ie it makes anyone thinking of attacking us think twice after estimating how much damage we could do them (game theory).the reason we fund wars more and other sectors less is the powerful have more to gain that way.
Not plausible but not impossible either for someone to try it out anyway.I can assure you this won't happen in your lifetime.
