Windows to Linux transition - Microsoft E-Waste

I am not a Futurama fan .
I have been flip-flopping between Windows and Linux ( Mint and Ubuntu) . Windows 10 was a good OS, but Microsoft has retired it and introduced Windows 11 . Windows 11 is a good OS, but Microsoft seems to shepherd users to have a Microsoft account to use Windows, which is very annoying. Also, the inclusion of bloatware, Candy Crush, Disney+, Spotify, and TikTok, etc, points to a future where we don't have control over our hardware.
The number of Windows computing devices that don't meet Windows 11 minimum requirements that will go to the dump will be huge. I know one can bypass the Windows 11 requirements, but not everyone is comfortable doing it.
This had me rethink about my reliance on Windows for use cases where I don't need it, and instead, Linux would be better. For some use cases, I will still require Windows, but I plan to shift 90% of my computing to Linux, specifically Linux Mint ( the only distro that supports GeForce GTX760M without going through numerous hoops ). I have tried Ubuntu LTS and Fedora before settling on Mint. That way, I will make use of old hardware that still has some life.
I am already a few weeks in, and so far I have managed to get Windows apps equivalent on the linux os that I am using.
I will find another use for the Optiplex 7050 (most probably will be a home server ) and use the old Acer laptop + 2 NEC monitors as my desk computer. I have ordered some PTM 7950 since the thermal paste is not doing its job. The specs below are still good enough for daily use on Linux.
