1. You disrupt coffee market.
2. After a long standoff you sell some of the farmers' unsold coffee
3. You then take ages to remit the proceeds until the farmers start grumbling
4. You then release some money with fanfare but farmers start demos all over coz what you are paying is much less than they were getting before disruption.
5 To hoodwink them you announce that you'll release 6.8 billions of tax payer money to settle the debts they owe.
6. Two weeks later you report that you are reconciling the debts before settlement.
7. Then the Government Buffoon says this

"Good News to Coffee Farmers. The Ksh 6.8 Billion Debt Waiver approved by Cabinet next week will be paid directly to farmers accounts. It is up to the lenders to subsequently look for the farmers to pay up through a Paybill or whatever. Government is not a debt collector. Going forward farmers are only going to receive loans from the Cherry Advance Fund"

So what is the game plan @Kasaman ?

Kwa ground farmers are planting coffee like nobody's business, the NAVCDP program slated to run from 2023-2028, is encouraging farmers to plant coffee, avocado, rear chicken and dairy cows, in 35 counties.
Let's hope the technocrats had foreseen something good for the farmers.

how possible is it to plant coffee small scale for personal use?
Atye ?

Anyway at Rwaka across the river as you head to Banana 106 , that farm used to be known as kwa nyoro worn by koinange . There used to be a coffee factory. The coffee was processed and sold in London. Huko hungeingia ataa kwa fences, the security guard were very tough always on horses back. Lakini nothing last forever. My late grandmother didn't believe it when in early 90s the locals started renting the land and planted beans inside that coffee estate. Today that land was sold and posh mansionates are dotted everywhere .
This earth belongs to God
