Suicide attempt at Likoni Ferry

Meria

Elder Lister
Passengers on a ferry at the Likoni crossing channel were startled when a middle-aged man walked to the edge of the vessel and jumped into the Indian Ocean. In what was believed to be an attempt at his life, the man is said to have jumped from the MV Likoni into the deep waters. The man was saved by rescuers from the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and those from the Kenya ferry. Likoni ferries which facilitate approximately 300,000 residents and 6,000 vehicles, cross from Mombasa Island terminus to mainland Likoni have been dogged by mysterious accidents over the years.
