while the idea is noble, nssf is one parastatal that need serious reforms, very heart breaking stories of retired folks making numerous trips to their offices to get their monies back or until they grease someone.
You wonder why they're being frustrated and the person doing it will also retire at some point. Most of us are living just for the moment.
Also nssf books have been wanting for a while, bad decisions are made just to funnel funds from it, it needs serious oversight .

One has to think that reforms are part of it. How can hustler fund be doing more savings than NSSF? No country has ever developed without savings.

World bank/ IMF is truly in town. The reality is that this is an innovative way of the goverment borrowing from it's citizens

@wrongturn don't be deceived that this is a brilliant idea. The truth is that the government is borrowing at a cheaper rate from wananchi cha lazima.

You are in your 30s. You contribute for 30 years to NSSF and get interest of 7%. Remember you cannot access these funds until you retire.

On the other hand, you are in your 30s. 15 year government bonds have an interest rate of 13.7%.

You're better off buying government bonds as your retirement plan than contribution to NSSF
