Ethiopia is forging ahead with the construction of the dam, despite resistance and threats from Egypt, while we cannot build dams on river, Nyando, Yala and Nzoia. A coward dies a thousand deaths, what's the current statistics of deaths caused by flooding? In the news an MCA in Alego was complaining about the numbers of bodies floating in the Yala swamps, swept from upstream.

If this dam is successfully filled with the millions of water it is supposed to hold and the project takes off,it could be the begging of the end for Egypt coz I see no reason why Kenya can not start damming those flood prone rivers too.

Seems we are the fraidy cats of the region.

Not necessarily, we can take advantage of the rains to plug in the excess water while maintaining the levels ensuring that it's mutually beneficial to us and Egypt/Sudan.
The other day we were complaining about Uganda not releasing water to the nile at the Nalubaale dam leading to flooding in the lake basin.
