You probably have be at least a little narcissistic to become a famous artist or public figure. You need enough belief in yourself to assume that other people want to consume your personal form of expression, that it’s somehow more compelling than countless others. The problem is when that belief goes too far and turns into a dependence on admiration and external validation, trapping you in a cycle of needing approval. It might sound envious, but it isn’t, I genuinely wouldn’t want to be famous, even if it came with money.
