AN OPEN LETTER TO UHURU KENYATTA:
DEAR MR PRESIDENT
I watched your speech yesterday and apart from hearing you invoke the spirit of Raphael Tuju wa the 60s, ie Tom Mboya...i heard you mention how you want us to amend the 2010 katiba inorder for it to adapt to the needs of the political class! You see Sir, it has always been about what the political class of this country needs and wants! We forget that since 2010, inflation has risen to crazy levels but people are still being paid salaries like we are still in 2010! Surprisingly Sir, our leaders, starting with you of course have their salaries adjusted to cushion them from the current inflation rates. How pathetic that you forgot to mention that fact jana!
MR PRESIDENT, let me today remind you of some of your achievements that surpass those of all other administrations combined!
MR PRESIDENT, we celebrated that Sh 1.2bn had been paid to your government after selling 240,000 barrels of crude oil to China. Hell, you even went to Msa to see off the damn ship! Question is Sir, where is that money? What has that money done for Kenya? Could we be given a breakdown by one of the many Treasury officials who are paid so well? Thank you Sir.
Oh, Sir, before I forget...we heard that Tullow Oil Company has billed us Sh 200bn!! Ni za nini?
MR. PRESIDENT, there is the small matter of Sh 100bn that was supposedly lost in 6 months through the ingenuity of KRA and KPA officials who allowed the importation of contraband goods without the Exchequer seeing a single cent in taxes. Well Sir, I must commend your KRA commisioner and the KPA management for such sophisticated thuggery that hadi wa leo..we the people of Kenya have never heard you ask for action to be taken! However, we the people note that your government is very quick to revive old tax compliance cases of economists like David Ndii who question your economics because you never want to be asked anything! You are what my people call " koigi ùteragwo" (one who doesn't like being challenged).
While on this subject of the contraband Sir, how can Kenyans forget the wonderful copper, mercury and yeast containing sugar that your government has so generously gifted us with over the last few years! Well, we are still here Sir, even after you tried to kill us!
MR PRESIDENT, healthcare is an area that your government has paid very special attention to. For example, we the taxpayers seem to have donated Sh 63bn to suppliers of medical equipment through a contract that your Hon AG said it doesn't exist! 63B ilipotea tu ivo ukiangalia! You must be very generous Sir.
MR. PRESIDENT, adding on to your generosity of paying suppliers 5 times the going rate for the equipment ndio usiseme nakuekelea, it's a known fact that a unit costs between Shs 40-45 million at the current market prices, but the Ministry of Health procured each at a whopping Shs 227 million! Ngai!
The same ministry is where ministry officials have stolen more than Shs 5bn in an NYS style mega corruption scandal involving diversion of funds, double payment for goods and manipulation of IFMIS.
This is the same ministry that Kenyans haven't forgotten about the mobile clinics project that cost us the taxpayers Shs 800mn! I understand they are now at Mathari Hospital.
MR. PRESIDENT, your efforts to boost NHIF in order to insure all Kenyans have been commendable. At last count, we the taxpayers had donated about Shs 10bn as NHIF officials and hospitals' administrations all over Kenya conspired to double-charge the government in medical bills! But, hey, in your usual self, you did nothing! Ulicheza kama wewe and decided we Kenyans are so rich tutaendelea kuwapa pesa zingine!
MR PRESIDENT, we Kenyans also hear that NHIF runs top of the line technology systems. Lakini four years later we Kenyans have learnt that Shs 1.88bn was used in streamlining its revenue streams, but documents before the NHIF board indicate the cost of purchasing the said software for streamlining is nearly 5 times more! Mungu wetu!
MR PRESIDENT, the tremendous efforts by your government placed on youth empowerment via the NYS are mind blowing to say the least! I mean, the number of young, German-fluent beneficiaries (eg the Ngirita kid who apparently has forgotten to talk in German) of this scheme is quite literally commendable! Let me not mention how your Late friend Bruce and his youth fund board also munched cash meant for youths but as always...you played like you and swept the matter under the carpet!
MR PRESIDENT, your desire to ensure that every Std One pupil was equipped with a laptop in the digital age is groundbreaking. However, you are yet to tell us where Shs 15bn school laptops pay vouchers went to since the ICT authority couldn't provide evidence of the massive payments made to suppliers of the gadgets. Yaani, you paid ghosts to provide laptops and here we are explaining to our kids that money was paid to suppliers but laptops are still missing! Woi!
MR PRESIDENT, for decades, our young nation has suffered the scourge of water scarcity. Imagine the shock on us Kenyans to the learn that your government donated over Shs 21bn to an Italian company only for the said company to declare bankruptcy in Italy! Kusema tu ukweli, this is something that has broken our collective hearts as Kenyans to no end. Mungu akubariki sana for playing politics with this issue. Yaani, Shs 21bn vanished in the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal but we just hear politics about it left right and centre. Have you even made efforts to get our many back?
MR PRESIDENT, do you know your Government did something that Palestinians and all Arabs in the world dream of doing but have always failed to do so and ie made the state of Israel fail in an area they always say they are the best! Sir, there are no records to indicate Israel has ever failed in an agricultural project!
However , you Mr President, kupitia the Galana- Kulalu irrigation project, you made the state of Israel have its first ever failure. Infact, the Israelis were so astounded by your government's determination to fail that they left the project midway after numerous frustrations. Knowing how your government works, am sure the Israelis were unable to provide bribes to government officials that your own ministers are part of that cabal always asking for bribes.
Over and above this Mr President, your efforts to ensure that we never run out of maize are a national first. I mean, your officials and traders filled NCPB depots with maize from Uganda as the board rejected maize from Kenyan local maize farmers! Yaani, heri tutajirishe majirani sisi tutikufa njaa!
By the way Mr President, speaking on going digital...your government registered 36mn of a total of 47mn Kenyans under Huduma Namba. Funny thing is not a single Kenyan has received their Huduma Namba to date! Tuseme vile sisi husema uku kwa streets.....ulitucheza prezzo!
Still on this Huduma Namba issue.. .we heard you had originally given Matiangi Shs 7.7bn alafu kwa ukarimu wako ukamuongezea another Shs 1bn! Swali ni, za nini?
MR PRESIDENT, mambo ya fence na Somalia umefikisha wapi? Last we heard Sir...we were told that your administration was building a wall that will make Trump's wall with Mexico look like child's play! After all, how can Trump match the Shs 350mn being spent on every kilometre of wall built! We heard it was a wire fence btw! Wire fence but mnatukula pesa ni kama mnatafuna njugu!
MR PRESIDENT.....niendele ama nisiendele?
