Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has reportedly been discharged from the Aga Khan Hospital after being admitted for nearly a week.

Multiple Sources at Jogoo and Vigilance Houses who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke declined to comment on the IG's whereabouts but alluded that he had taken a temporary break from the office.
"He is around and working," an insider stated.

His aides who spoke to the People Daily stated that he has been out of office for a while in search of treatment.
However, they did not divulge his illness as it is a confidential matter treated with the utmost secrecy.
"The boss is doing well. I’m just from visiting him at his home," his personal assistant told the Standard on May 15.
"We hope he will be discharged soon," a senior police official added.
Sources privy to Mutyambai's whereabouts added that he was progressing well and responding to medication.

Prior to his admission, Mutyambai was vocal on matters of police mental health and working environment. This was after a police constable Viviana Williams sought his intervention in a case where she accused her seniors of sexual harassment and bias.
