The unending cases of bandits attacking has continued to became a thon in the flesh especially in the pastoral region where these attacks has been rampant. Despite the warnings from the government and the security agencies it seems like the daring bandits are not scared with anything like that.

Today Interior CS Professor Kithure Kindiki came face to face with reality after the bandits started shooting while he was addressing residents in the volatile Ngomeni area. The gunshots were heard barely two kilometres from Mandongoi Primary School in Mwingi North where the CS had landed, accompanied by the county security team, to assure the community of their safety. This caused panic, forcing the security officers to activate alert mode.

The security minister however proceeded with his speech where he sent a serious warning that the government will deal with them in a painful way.

"If they think they are better equipped with more guns than the government, or they are more trained than our security agencies, we'll see who wins this war in the next few days" said the CS.

Bandits pan-tambua
The message was for the local people. Don't forget the socalled "bandits" are supposed to be North of the Tana River and not past Modogashe on the Northern side.
These days they shoot people in Ukambani and Meru North (without repercussions except warnings) every few days.

Incidents like these may look isolated.
