Somewhere between Ibanda, Uganda, and Nairobi, a truck carrying avocados worth hundreds of thousands decided to pull a disappearing act. The truck, plate number KDR 941D, was entrusted to a man with the unforgettable name Jamaica Waweru Mulra. After pocketing a KSh 70,000 deposit, the driver went off-grid, switching off his phone. Last contacted at the Busia Border, he claimed the truck had “broken down” but promised delivery by Sunday. Spoiler alert: no guacamole for Nairobi.
Now frustrated, the cargo owner is appealing to the public for help—and Juja Police are officially on the case. If you spot Jamaica, the truck, or mysteriously cheap avocados on sale, kindly call 0722331508. Until then, Nairobians will have to put their avocado toast dreams on hold.
