A police constable was on Monday, April 4 arrested by his colleagues for allegedly trying to sell a mobile phone worth Ksh20,000 he allegedly stole while on duty.
According to a report seen, the officer stationed at the Olkalou station in Nyandarua County was nabbed after he was found with the phone he snatched from a woman at a popular club at midnight.
The victim filed a police report under OB number 02/04/04/2022 claiming that a man who identified himself as an officer, took her phone near an entertainment joint.
The constable is said to have asked her to follow him to the police station but soon disappeared into the dark forcing her to report the matter to the nearest police station.
"One gentleman who identified himself as a police officer snatched her phone make Oppo A15 from her hand and asked her to follow him to the station. She followed him but when they approached the station, he disappeared," read the report in part.
