Listening to Al-Shabaab, one begins to wonder whether they are the devils they have been labelled to be. A closer look and you might start suspecting they could be selling a better form of governance, which explains why the population does not exactly mind them, the same way the Taliban enjoyed implicit support from the population. Given a choice between a dysfunctional democracy and a functional Islamic theocracy, it is not too difficult to guess what most people would pick.
