78-year-old woman found dead in her house in Nyayo Estate, Embakasi

Police are investigating an incident in which a 78-year-old woman was found dead in her house in Nyayo Estate, Embakasi, after a long bout of fasting and praying. The body of Catherine Kibara was found in her bed long after she had gone missing. Her relatives told police the woman stayed alone and it was unusual for her not to pick up calls.

On Monday, they went to her house and found it locked from the inside.They broke the door of her house, where they found her body lying on the bed.Police who arrived at the scene said they stumbled on a register showing she had been fasting and praying since May 18. Police suspect she died out of starvation. The officers handling the case said they plan to conduct an autopsy on the body to establish how and why she died
 
Wooi, I find that estate quite commercial in nature and not quite welcoming or homely. Whenever I visit there, everybody is very distant, and unfriendly...it seems they do not even check in with their neighbors. If you have a next door neighbor who is elderly, atleast checking in on them once per month would go a long way...anyway, may she RIP
