Ephraim Njenga is definitely a 'whinner'

There are some desparately poor people who can't afford food. I hope the new government can find a way of protecting them from hunger.

Wacha mafeelings mingi. Those conmen knew the state of the economy but chose to lie to the masses. Watu mnabebewa akili na watu wengine Kwa mfuko. You are only allowed to use it to repeat the lies you have been fed. Typical of propaganda victims, you want to have 'enemies' real or...

Many of us said the economy was bad due to the policies adopted before covid hit. Some people like David Ndīi were opposed to borrowing even before covid. The rest, like I, the two super goons and many of you supported borrowing to build infrastructure. Then covid came, Russia Ukraine war...

    Help me understand

Thats theoretically possible but I don't think they would do that in large scale. The government knows who has what fuel. You saw the CEO of Rubis being shown the door for messing around. Big players avoid making big blunders.

Good luck with that. Can I remind you we elected 2 super goons and some other 70 premier thieves to run our affairs. Hata kuna goon nimesikia ikisema haipendagi kuona makachero kwa ofisi. Akiona hawa jamaa tumbo hujaa maji.

Nothing has changed to make me optimistic. My assessment is that the economy will stagnate or even decline. There are global financial problems, it's not an issue that would be fixed by changing the government in Kenya. Those guys that promised the masses milk and honey waliwakosea.

Those taxes were supposed to take advantage of the all time low fuel prices during the pandemic. Shida ya government is that it becomes an addict to any taxes it levies.

    Matatus 🚐

There is a limit to taxes that can be levied without making counterfeiting too attractive. Higher taxes will make it more profitable for tax evaders. More tax evasion encourages KRA and other authorities to hire more people and deploy more funds towards compliance. When formal alcohol is too...
