    Laikipia, update

They are not Pokot bandits, they are Kenya's bandits, born and bred, the product of more than 50 years of marginalisation. Condemn them for their errant ways but also wear their shoes for a moment and acknowledge their limited options, they probably wouldn't choose banditry if they had an...

    Laikipia, update

No, this is not it. A massacre of innocents alongside the guilty is not something to advocate for. That multiagency team can flush out bandits from anywhere, what is lacking is the go-ahead to do so, banditry is big business, clearly the masterminds have sway in gafament.

DCI, DPP and Co-op bank threw that poor lady under the bus, I hope she gets a huge settlement when she sues them at the Employment Court.

    Rao - Moi Ticket?

Design Kenyatta amerelegate Ruto to nothing more than a ceremonial figurehead it is a wonder anyone from the mountain still covets it, a coalition agreement guaranteeing Jubilee Party gets to fill certain powerful cabinet posts would offer much greater influence than the DP post.

    Greeks translate for me

This is another stupid iteration of 41v1, only in this case Kikuyus arent bad for the nation anymore, apparently it was all just a big misunderstanding, the Kalenjin on the other hand are the ultimate scourge. This is a game of musical chairs, a very unhealthy one.

Moi University insolvency...( the very simplistic question)

The tragedy of it all is that the person's spreading the lies, misinformation are people who know better, if we do not rise to defend one another from such propaganda politicians will keep holding us hostage

    Maendeleo Kitui

The problem with this arrangement is government's being central to the supply chain, corruption is very likely going to kill this project if drivers and the guys in charge aren't kept in check, hopefully the trucks are under lease and maintenance is handled by GM, you don't want them lying...

Moi University insolvency...( the very simplistic question)

It should not be forgotten that UON, KU and TUK are technically insolvent too, dating back to 2019, i suspect all public unis in this country are in the same hole now

    Deputy president

Deputy President is a useless seat, if she does not deputise a candidate like Kivutha or Kituyi she would rather go for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat, that would be a great lynchpin for a future stab at the presidency.

We Never Learn : Drought & Hunger

Part of the reason why there is little buy-in is middlemen enjoying the profits at the expense of farmers, from potato farmers, tea and coffee farmers to mango farmers, as long as the farmer makes a pittance it is going to be very difficult to sell farming to pastrolists. Crop farming for them...

We Never Learn : Drought & Hunger

Plus it is probably cheaper to simply harvest rain water, given land in the north is mostly communal land-no big land owners to compensate which helps keep costs in check- dams would be viable along those big seasonal rivers.

    Laikipia Kimeumana kabisa

Seems all the shiny new equipment GoK buys wasnt bought to protect the poor, neither are the operators trained and armed using the taxes the poor cough up daily, it is clearly not a question of GoK lacking capacity. They just don't care about the poor, that is the true fault line of...

the conversation that is refusing to go away

The signs are there, CBC is not an upgrade. The next administration is going to have to make the bold decision to fall back to 8-4-4
