I was denied an opportunity to fly those planes. My slot was taken by a former classmate who dropped out , simply coz the mother was a senior secretary in KQ. Stanislaus Simiyu, I have never forgiven you.

Mine is the opposite. I applied but wasn't called. Later my uncle who was a senior Engineer there akaniuliza mbona sikumuambia. But I guess I didn't really know what I was getting myself into because I hate flying. 90% am always high to get some courage

Nothing gives me more satisfaction that a flight. Ata ya nbo-msa. I wish I was in control of the plane.
But somehow, I hate long haul flights coz you get bored doing nothing. The more reason I wanted to be a captain.

No. I left everything to fate. She didn't even survive 3 months on the job. She left.
Edit: She was a classmate pale UoN. And I had a better grade than her. Her auntie was a senior officer in the organization and was seated in the panel. We did three interviews. It was just me and her in the last one.

pole boss, that's life, network is more importanter than grades, kuna watu who straight from high school to blue chips yet we have folks with mba, cpa k etc still walking.

One time I got a job and Port through a connection, got even called for documents to be verified (all show in hindsight). I was to report on Monday but was called on Friday and told the job had disappeared. Many moons later I got a simple contract there. Reported but I had to move to many offices before their system could accept my details, the system showed that I actually worked there for a year and a few months. The finance guys couldn't explain how? I didn't dwell on it until someone told me that the guy who connected me actually took his brother instead of me and he probably used my documents to get the job and it's just maybe a few years ago when they were doing some auditing that the brother quit.
